Around the world, people gather with a glass in hand and a celebration in progress and utter one of these words to salute a person, to celebrate life, to say thank you.

In the Catholic community of the Diocese of Nashville, we could simply say “legacy,” and we’d be speaking of our Gala honorees.

If you have attended a function that supports our Catholic schools, our charities, our community, you have certainly enjoyed a glass that was filled by the generous spirit…and the spirit of generosity…of a devoted Catholic family. Through their loving hearts, their enthusiastic energy and their quietly omnipresent support, they have lived their Catholic faith and, in the process, advanced the Catholic presence throughout the Nashville community.

That’s why Father Ryan is proud to raise a toast to the honorees of the 2020 Legacy Gala, Chris (McCann) and Bubba ’69 Donnelly.
